Aloha! Welcome to my personal space!

I am a passionate data scientist who loves solving real world problems with statistical modelings and cutting edge machine learning techniques.

I am a programmer with Python, PySpark, R, SQL, C#, and MATLAB. Also the founder and maintainer of “SCR” R package.

I used to play Piano and Guzheng, but neither instruments is available in my current apartment. Instead I started to play Ukulele from 2021 to amuse myself and focus on performing.

During weekends, sometimes I hike to visit the top of the mountain; sometimes I cook a table of fancy meals though some do not have to be delicious; sometimes I just sleep till noon and then play video games and order pizza deliveries to spend the rest of my day.

Jan 2022 – Present Washington

2022 is a new beginning for me. I began to think deeply about the world, and the meaning of my life. I knew the universe is more than huge when I was a child, but only realized how tiny I am until recently when I slow down my pace and look at my self. My happiness, sadness is nothing and will be tored off as time goes. I want to make a difference to the world, so I started my video channel @天然不墨守成规, mainly sharing tourism vlogs and dailylifes. I hope to get more and more people watch my videos and be more influential to the world one day.

Dec 2020 – Dec 2021 California

December of 2020 is a big month for me. I started to make money and try to live a life by myself. Adulting is amazing, though not easy in any way. I find myself need to deal with everything happened in my life. My parents will no longer sheltering me. It can be extreamly difficult when I have to fight with flies, spiders, and Irvine’s famous ants. I got to manage my finance, take care of bills and decide what to prepare for each meal to achieve a balanced nutrition. It is not an easy journey, not at all. Though it is a pretty dope thing to take good care of myself. I built a database with Notion to monitor where my money goes and in what proportion. I learned how to drive and how to bargin with car dealers. With my very first car in life, I got to travlel from south CA to north CA, overlook from the top of a mountain, and catch fish in Pacific Ocean.

The first time I went abroad all by myself. After a nearly 24-hour flight, I landed at NY. On the way to my new apartment, I remember looking at the streets, buildings, and people out there. “This is it” I talked to myself in mind, “here I am, to achieve my chidhood dream of studying abroad and seeing the word ouside of my birth villege”. New York lifestyle is very similar to Shanghai’s, it’s like people don’t sleep, rest, or get tired. The lights are always shining even at late night, the trains are crowded in the morning and evening, and the music from street musicians never stops. It is so energetic and full of opportunies with countless meetup social events, acedemic seminars, and operas at broadway open for register. I love New York, love its open to diversity, its life-loving people, and its full of surprises.

College life grant me the first taste of freedom. 5.5-hour train or 2-hour flight’s distance seperated me and my home. I studied Topology, group theory, real/complex algebra… I read biography of modern artists and their paintings. I feel so powerful with all my knowledge and firmly believe that I will definitely make soem difference to the world. 仰天大笑出门去，我辈岂是蓬蒿人。
